Jeremy James Dalton, age 42, of Jamestown, Tennessee has been convicted of criminal attempt to commit first degree murder in the September 2018 stabbing of Luther Byrd. Jared Effler, 8th District Attorney General, reports that Mr. Dalton remains in custody pending his Sentencing Hearing, which is scheduled for November 16, 2021. This was the third felony jury trial held in the Fentress County Criminal Court since the Tennessee Supreme Court lifted the suspension of jury trials in the State of Tennessee in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
