Cumberland County’s total positive case count rose by 119 on Thursday, August 26, 2021 to 8,309. Deaths remained the same at 153.
Statewide, deaths rose by 69 over the two days for a total of 13,304 on Thursday, August 26, 2021. Tennessee’s total positive cases went up by 11,311 to 1,013,943.
On Wednesday, Health Commissioner Lisa Piercey said children now make up 36% of Tennessee’s reported COVID-19 cases. There were 14,000 pediatric cases in the last seven days, representing a 57% increase over the week prior.
