Humphreys County Chief Deputy Rob Edward reports that 19 people have been confirmed dead from last weekend’s flood. At least 509 homes have been damaged or destroyed. In memory of victims, Gov. Bill Lee has called for the flags at the state capitol to fly at half-staff until Friday. Lee also signed an executive order on Wednesday to provide additional relief efforts for the community and support for the Humphreys County School District.
