The Crossville City Council met in regular session for August on Tuesday. Sales tax collections for the latest reporting period once again outpaced the previous year, according to Crossville City Manager Greg Wood’s report to council. Revenue from sales was listed at $881,000, up by almost $100,000 from last year. Wholesale beer taxes remain steady with $683,000 collected for the fiscal year to date, while liquor sales revenue stands at $630,332 for the year. The hotel occupancy tax is rebounding after a drastic drop in 2020 due to the pandemic. Hotel tax collections for the latest period are, at last, at pre-Covid levels.
