The Crossville City Council in regular session on Tuesday, approved a motion to negotiate for the purchase of property to locate a possible indoor recreation facility. The motion, made by Council Member Scot Shanks, authorizes the city attorney to begin negotiations on a portion of property formerly occupied by the Crossville Ford dealership, as well as adjoining parcels. Council believes the area is better suited for the facility, but should negotiations prove unsuccessful, are considering a backup location between Webb Avenue and Iris Lane. That location was purchased earlier this year. The motion was approved in a 4-0 vote with Council Member Art Gernt absent.
