Morgan County’s Circuit Court Clerk has issued a warning to citizens regarding a phone scam. Marla S. Hines says numerous people have received calls that appears to originate from her personal cell phone number stating, “This is the Circuit Court Clerk’s Office and there is a warrant for your arrest.” The automated voice then asks them to please hold….” Hines says this is a scam and is in no way associated with her or her office. If you receive such a call, do not give any personal information or answer any personal questions. Anyone who has received such a call or has any information is asked to contact Hines with details. She be forwarding the information to the District Attorney for further investigation.
