An August 3rd, 2021 trial date has been set for a Bledsoe County man accused in the axe murders of a mother and daughter. On November 30, 2017 Joe Whittenburg, age 47, allegedly killed 46-year-old Deanna Lawrence and her 24-year-old daughter, Dedra Lawrence, inside a home on Sawmill Road in Pikeville. The trial date delay is due to the pandemic.
