EF-0 Tornado Causes Damage In Putnam County Friday Afternoon

The National Weather Service has confirmed that an EF-0 tornado touched down in Putnam County Friday afternoon (5/28/21).  A tornado warning was issued for Putnam, Overton and Fentress Counties at 1:15pm.  The twister was approximately 75 yards wide and caused minor to moderate damage. The Putnam County Emergency Management Agency reports storm damage at South Willow Avenue near I-40 in Cookeville and also in multiple neighborhoods North and East to the Falling Water Rd area of Buck Mountain. There were no immediate reports of injuries.
