Friday morning motorists along Highway 111 in Cookeville were treated to a sight you just don’t see every day – a zebra running loose. The animal was headed in the direction of Prescott South Elementary and the school sent out a message on Facebook warning parents to stay away from the animal, which had been tased and was very angry . Cookeville Mayor Ricky Van Shelton said the zebra had escaped from a truck as it was being transported to an exotic animal show. The zebra was safely captured but not before some motorists had the chance to take pictures to share on social media.
