The Tennessee Senate has passed a bill that would ban police officers from using chokeholds unless deadly force is authorized. The bill also bans “no knock” warrants and places limitations on discharging a firearm at or from a moving vehicle. The bill heads to the Criminal Justice Committee next week. If it becomes law, the new requirements must be implemented by January 1, 2022.
