The Cumberland County Board of Education voted unanimously to enter into a contract with the Frantz Law Group of San Diego, California to seek damages and relief from JUUL Labs, makers of electronic cigarettes. While no specific damages were mentioned, representatives of the law firm could recoup some of the costs associated with detection of vaping devices and other costs of deterring underage use of the products. The board will not be liable for any costs associated with the suit, but the firm would take up to 25 percent of any settlement.
