An Anderson County K-9 found a wanted fugitive hiding under a church on Sunday.  According to the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office, around 11:15 AM Sunday, the Sheriff’s Office was contacted by Oak Ridge Police and asked to deploy their K-9 on duty for locating a suspect who fled on foot after a traffic stop at Tulane and the Turnpike. The man is wanted out of Ohio and was considered to be armed and dangerous. Authorities say the suspect ran into First United Methodist Church of Oak Ridge, which is a large building with many places to hide. The church was evacuated and a room to room search was conducted lead by ACSO K-9 Baron and his handler, Sgt. Jon Acker. The search lasted nearly 2 hours until K-9 Baron alerted on a bathroom closet door. The door was opened and the suspect surrendered immediately and was taken into custody.
