By Ronni Chase Mar 29, 2021 | 9:05 PM

The Tennessee Dept. of Health has confirmed seven people were killed in flood waters over the weekend. There were five fatalities in Davidson County, one fatality in Cheatham County and one fatality in Hawkins County.

With more rain on the way this week the National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Watch in effect from 7pm CDT Tuesday until 1am CDT Thursday for Cumberland County and portions of Middle Tennessee including Fentress, Putnam, White, Overton, Pickett and Van Buren.  Also included in the Flash Flood Watch are Bedford, Cannon, Cheatham, Clay, Coffee, Davidson, De Kalb, Dickson, Giles, Grundy, Hickman, Houston, Humphreys, Jackson, Lawrence, Lewis, Macon, Marshall, Maury, Montgomery, Perry, Robertson, Rutherford, Smith, Stewart, Sumner, Trousdale,Warren, Wayne,  Williamson and Wilson.

Rainfall will cause excess runoff and localized flash flooding in the watch area, including adding additional water level rises on already elevated area rivers and creeks.  Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
