The March meeting of the full Cumberland County Commission was held Monday night. Commissioners approved a resolution granting the Middle Tennessee Utility District a permanent easement along Landfill Road. The easement will be for a distribution pipeline. In financial news, County Mayor Allen Foster reports that sales tax collections for the year to date are almost $750,000 above estimates, taking in $7.1 million dollars thus far. Property tax collections are down slightly with proceeds about 2 percent below the same level last year.
