The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office reports that murder suspect John Michael Poss has been taken into custody in Warren County and will be extradited back to Cumberland County where he will appear in court. Poss, age 33, had been placed on the TBI Most Wanted List prior to capture. He is is charged in the death of 30-year-old Austin Shane Lewis. In early September 2020, Cumberland County Sheriff’s Deputies were called to Mr. Lewis’ Neverfail Road home for a welfare check and discovered Mr. Lewis deceased on the kitchen floor from an apparent shotgun wound to the chest. An investigation resulted in John Poss being charged with First Degree Murder.
